Hair Of The Dog Pet Spa is owned and operated by an artist and animal lover. Laura Jayne Sabbah attended grooming school in 2002 and has continued her education via grooming expos and seminars over the course of 2 decades. She is also a competitive dog groomer, traveling all over the country to compete with some of the most talented groomers in the world to continuously further her skills. She has earned countless awards in competing with terriers, poodles, bichons, and Asian fusion style. She is a proud volunteer to the Humane Society of New York and has been featured on NY1 being honored as their New Yorker of the week. She has also made appearances on such shows as “The Most Expensivist” on Vice with rapper 2chainz, Animal Planet, and CNBC. She has proudly catered to cats and dogs up and down the East coast from Miami Beach, Washington DC, Connecticut to New York City. Laura Jayne is a member of the National Dog Groomers Association of America (NDGAA) and the Creative Groomers Association (CGA). She holds certifications in non-sporting breeds, pet CPR, animal care and handling and as a Pet Aesthetician. Her extensive background in holistic medicine and natural remedies along with years of gathering experience and knowledge have allowed her to and become the best she could be. Laura Jayne is proud to present Hair of The Dog Pet Spa exclusively in New York City, where New Yorker’s pets are people too (since 2015). She specializes in all breed standards, hand-stripping, Asian fusion styles, creative grooming, and rehabilitative work with rescues.
